Meet Konstantinos Grigoratos
Our Honorary Consul
Mr Konstantinos Grigoratos is a committed professional with a strong academic and diplomatic background, dedicated to serving the Greek community in Wales and strengthening relations between Greece and the United Kingdom. Born and raised in Greece, he pursued an academic and professional journey that led him from Athens to Cardiff, shaping his career in public service and international engagement.
Mr Grigoratos completed his undergraduate studies at the American College of Greece, earning a degree in Business Administration and Marketing. He later worked at the Institute of Diplomacy and Global Affairs in Greece, where he supported key institutional initiatives and gained valuable experience in diplomatic communication and international affairs. His academic development continued at Cardiff University, where he obtained a master’s degree in International Public Relations and Global Communications Management. During this period, he developed strong ties with the city of Cardiff, where he settled with his family and became an active member of the local community. He also pursued research into strategic political communication, focusing on the communication approach of President Barack Obama.
Within Cardiff University, Mr Grigoratos has held roles that reflect his commitment to higher education and institutional development. He previously served as a Transition Officer and now works as a Strategic Planning Officer in the School of Medicine, contributing to strategic initiatives, planning processes, and community engagement aligned with the University’s civic mission. Alongside his professional duties, he has maintained strong links with the Greek community in Wales. He served as a Governor of the Greek School of Wales for eight years, including three years as President, contributing to the promotion of Greek language, culture, and heritage among the Greek diaspora.
In 2025, Mr Grigoratos was appointed Honorary Consul of Greece in Wales under Ambassador Ioannis Tsaousis. In this capacity, he is dedicated to supporting Greek and EU nationals, strengthening bilateral relations, and promoting educational, cultural, economic, and scientific cooperation between Greece and Wales. His responsibilities include developing institutional partnerships, supporting trade and investment initiatives, providing consular assistance, issuing official documentation, and safeguarding the interests of citizens in need.
With a strong sense of public duty and a commitment to international cooperation, he continues to work towards fostering meaningful connections between Greece, Wales, and the wider United Kingdom.
